About Keepmint

Keepmint is an iPhone app for coin collectors. It identifies a coin from a photo and keeps a log of your collection: photos, price paid, estimated value and where each coin is stored.

Made by a collector

Keepmint was created by a coin collector. Like many collectors, the founder had coins in albums, boxes and envelopes, and no single place that said what each coin was, what it cost and where it was kept. Keepmint is the app the founder wanted for that collection.

US and world coins from the founder's collection spread on a table

Our coin guides

Alongside the app, we publish guides to help collectors identify coins and understand what makes them valuable. The coin photos in our guides come from the founder's collection whenever we have the coin. Facts such as mintages, dates and specifications come from primary and standard sources, which we cite at the end of each guide. Read our editorial policy to see how guides are written, reviewed and corrected.

What we believe

  • Your collection is yours. No account, no tracking across other apps, and your collection stays on your iPhone. You can export it to CSV at any time.
  • Honest numbers. Identifications and values are estimates, and we say so. We do not publish price tables we cannot keep up to date.
  • Real coins. We prefer our own photos of real coins to stock images.
